This week, her PEEP was weaned down to 8, and the team is hoping to wean it to 7! Once it is down to 6, she will be able to do “sprints” on the vent, or periods of time not being connected to the vent
Olivia has successfully been on the home vent for the last week. The team ordered her home equipment this week! There is no ETA for when the equipment will arrive, but once it has come in, B & M can each do their 48 hour stays, get trained on the vent, and bring that baby home!
Becky did her second independent trach change, and Max has done one. They each have to do three to be signed off by the respiratory therapists.
Olivia has an infection at her G-tube site, but has been on medication for the last week and it is getting better. She also had an ultrasound to check if there was an abscess below the site, but thankfully there isn’t an issue there
Olivia’s feeds have been reduced down to 1.5 hrs per feed, and the team plans to reduce more (down to 1 hour per feed)
Olivia has had quite a few visitors this week, one from as far away as San Francisco!
So wonderful to read of her progress. Bless you all for the love and strength you have for beautiful Olivia Hope. Wish the home equipment arrives soon.
Such wonderful news! Happy for all of you and hoping that the equipment comes soon!
