- Olivia has been completely weaned off the nitric oxide for the first time in weeks, and the paralytic was stopped
- After this, the team did a repeat echo to look at her PDA
- The PDA was shown to be smaller, so small in fact that they would NOT perform a procedure on it
- They aren’t sure why it got smaller, but they plan to do another echo later this week once she’s off antibiotics to see if it has changed. If it has not, there won’t be a procedure, and the team will likely look to start steroids to help her lungs improve
- She may move back to BIDMC at this point, but it also depends on her stats
- Olivia’s antibiotic was switched to a new type, Cipro, since it should better attack the current infection
- She’s becoming immune to the antibiotic she was on for 21 days, and also during her first infection
- She is on day 3 of 5, but the team may review and make it a 7-day course
- The team had paused her feeds, but she’s been restarted on them.
- She had a normal brain MRI, which is great news
- Weight – 2400 grams, or 5lbs 4 oz
- Today, Olivia’s breathing tube was exchanged for one with a cuff in the hopes that it would minimize the air leakage.
- The team moved her onto another high frequency ventilator to help the carbon dioxide levels, which were too high. The new vent is bringing them down some.
