Olivia turned 12 weeks old this week, gestationally 39 weeks
She weighs 2.5k, or 5lbs 8oz. That’s 4 lbs heavier than her birth weight.
The steroids aren’t helping her make as much progress as we all hoped. She finishes out the course on Monday, which is when the team will discuss next steps.
Olivia has had some symptoms of withdrawal as the team gently weans her morphine and midaz
Her leg PICC line was removed after 80+ days, and replaced with a larger one in her arm. This one should allow for blood draws, transfusions, and blood gasses without needing to give her a separate IV or prick her heel on a regular basis. The PICC line can’t come out for good until all of Olivia’s meds can be taken through her feeding tube.
Olivia had another eye exam – her eyes are still immature.
In other news…
Becky and Max learned that the hospital isn’t allowed to file/clip baby nails, so they need to do it. Yesterday was the first test of nail care (thanks to Alyssa giving us a baby nail grinding set!) Olivia didn’t seem to mind.
