Olivia has been home for two weeks now! She’s loving it, but I think her family is loving it more. It’s been absolutely wonderful being able to have guests come and see Olivia, and be able to hold her.
Some big milestones for Becky, Max, and Livie
- Being able to play on the ground, with her new toys
- Just being able to be held while sitting on the ground, or the couch or a chair
- Max playing the piano for Olivia
- Olivia sitting in the dining room while Becky and Max eat dinner
- Being able to pick up Olivia at any hour of the day, no longer separated by cities, streets, or buildings
- Taking Olivia on her first stroll around the cul-de-sac
Anya and Olivia finally met!
- Anya unfortunately had to go to the vet on Olivia’s homecoming, but she is feeling better now. We have our whole family together!
- Anya seems very concerned when Olivia is crying or when her machines do a lot of beeping. She’s a good girl!
Thanks to the power of social media, we have a few nurses that started helping out at home last week. This will be so helpful for Becky and Max to continue to care for their other needs, like sleeping. One wonderful nurse brought her a musical toy and a night light projector!
Family have been coming over to watch Olivia, and allowing B&M to take naps. Special thanks to all the family who has been learning how to care for this special girl!
Olivia had several in-person appointments since she came home (all scheduled), so Max and Becky have had many opportunities to pack Olivia up and travel to Lexington and Waltham Children’s locations. It’s been exciting to take her out, and drive around! We had a few hours between two appointment last week, and Olivia got to spend some time outside with the breeze on her face. It was absolutely lovely.
Also, this update was started over a week ago, but things have been just THAT busy that it’s only getting finished today…(And then it took me a few days to post it, sorry! -Dan)
